The Forest Inn at Hexworthy offers traditional lodging in the heart of Dartmoor in Devon. One of the big attractions of The Forest Inn, is that it is a dog friendly place. This is is a huge plus for many of the walkers in the area.

The accommodations are rural and quaint, clean and well priced. Downstairs there is a restaurant for around 40 where you can get home cooked meals at lunchtime and in the evenings. There is also a hearty breakfast available before you set off on your daily walk across the moors.

As a popular watering hole, there is often a crowd of locals in the bar during the evenings which can make for some great conversations. The overall ambience is very friendly and the bar area quietens down at a sensible hour, so there is no problem getting a good nights sleep.

Open everyday through the summer from April through November and then have shorter winter opening times.

Dartmoor Prison – Unlocking the history of one of England’s most famous prisons, Dartmoor Prison Museum reflects the heritage of HMP Dartmoor from Prisoner of War Depot to the present day. The interesting collection of artefacts provides a unique insight into prison life both past and present.

This working farm is like a well kept secret, that deserves to be shared! Hidden among the old stone dwellings and granite tops of Dartmoor, just south of the Dartmeet to Two Bridge Road, it nestles in a valley, shaped by the Western Dart’s easterly path.

St. Raphael’s Chaple – St. Raphael’s Chapel situated in the beautiful hamlet of Huccaby on Dartmoor, is a place of peace and tranquility. Built in 1868 as a combined chapel and schoolroom, it has the distinction of being the only Anglican chapel in the country to be dedicated to the Archangel St. Raphael.
